May 04, 2012 Tenacious D
With their forthcoming new album Rize of the Fenix, Tenacious D‘s Jack Black and Kyle Gass are looking to reclaim the throne that was supposedly lost to them when their 2006 movie/soundtrack The Pick of Destiny under-performed at the box-office and Billboard charts. Addressing the comeback conflict is the record’s title track and its accompanying music video. Filled to the brim with the D’s rock opera absurdism and a barrage of goofy special effects, the video’s “rough cut” can be seen down below. Once you’re done watching, you can skip down to listen to the whole album, which has been posted online for streaming. Rize of the Fenix is out May 15.
