New Zealand indie-pop band Yumi Zouma released their sophomore album, Willowbank, last year via Cascine (it was one of our Top 100 Albums of 2017). Now they have shared a new song, “France (Grand Boulevards).” It’s the first single to be taken from Dreams, a new compilation that’s been put together by the New York-based website Stadium & Shrines. Dreams is due out June 15 via Cascine and also features Mutual Benefit, Teen Daze, Julie Byrne & Eric Littmann, Bing & Ruth, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and others (the full tracklist is below). Also below is the comp’s cover art and Yumi Zouma’s contribution.

Dreams will be released as a double LP and gatefold book, with three bonus digital tracks.

A press release describes the genesis of the project as such: “Dreams began in 2012, as the formative era of ‘music blogging’ - a staple medium of the mid-2000’s DIY movement - was shifting towards a more industry-centric ecosystem. On the fringes of this evolution, rather than accelerate with it, Stadium & Shrines chose to slow down, to navigate from a different vantage, alongside creators and listeners. Founder Dave Sutton and visual artist Nathaniel Whitcomb envisioned an open-ended multimedia series, inviting artists to musically interpret black-and-white collages, cut from a 1950s tourism book and recomposed into pieces of physical and video art.”
