The Big Cover Up EP Due Out June 17 via Olsen Records

Todd Terje and his backing band The Olsens are releasing The Big Cover Up, a new EP of covers, on June 17 via Olsen Records. Now they have shared their cover of “Firecracker,” which began as a 1959 song from composer Martin Denny, but was then memorably covered by Japan’s Yellow Magic Orchestra in 1978. Listen below. More

The double 12-inch includes eight tracks, four covers (of songs by Martin Denny/Yellow Magic Orchestra, Martin Circus, Boney M, and Vangelis) and four remixes of those covers (by Daniel Maloso, Dan Tyler, Prins Thomas, and Øyvind Morken). FYF Fest has announced its 2016 lineup and it’s another impressive one. The event is due to take place August 27 and 28 at LA Sports Arena and Exposition Park. Saturday will be headlined by Kendrick Lamar and Tame Impala and Sunday will be headlined by LCD Soundsystem (who seem to be playing every festival this year) and Grace Jones. More
