Aretha Franklin, who had the title of The Queen of Soul, has died at age 76. She passed away at her home in Detroit, as reported by various outlets, including the Associated Press, who reports that the cause of death was pancreatic cancer.

Death Cab for Cutie
Death Cab for Cutie are releasing a new album, Thank You For Today, this Friday (August 17) via Atlantic. Last night the band stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the album’s first single “Gold Rush” on the air. Then they did a mini concert of four other songs for a web-exclusive performance, including Thank You For Today tracks “Autumn Love,” “Your Hurricane,” and “Summer Years,” as well as the classic track “The Sound of Settling” (from 2003’s Transatlanticism).
