"On the Door" Also Features Neil Gaiman, Ben Folds, Craig Ferguson, Eugene Mirman, and More

It sure is fun to be an Amanda Palmer fan. If she’s not covering David Bowie with a string quartet, then she’s releasing an album with her formerly estranged father or performing Prince’s Purple Rain in its entirety on New Year’s Eve. Either way, she’s always up to something fun and interesting. Now she’s teamed up with Brendan Maclean for a new parody dance song that makes fun of ridiculous guest list requests. “On the Door” features her husband, acclaimed author Neil Gaiman, as well as Ben Folds, Reggie Watts, Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt, Craig Ferguson, Eugene Mirman, Kirsten Vangsness, Mike Posner, Noah Britton, and Sara Jones. The song is up on Palmer’s Bandcamp as a download or can be streamed below.
Palmer calls the song “one of my most ridiculous things to date.” You can read her lengthy statement about the song over at her website. Palmer and Maclean previously teamed up to cover Bat For Lashes’ “Laura.”
