Parlophone have already released two excellent and exhaustive David Bowie box sets, Five Years (1969-1973) and David Bowie - Who Can I Be Now? (1974-1976). Now the third in the series has been announced, A New Career In a New Town (1977-1982). This one is due out September 29 and covers the incredibly fertile artistic period that produced the Berlin trilogy, three classic albums recorded with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti in the German capitol (1977’s Low, 1977’s “Heroes”, and 1979’s Lodger). The box set includes a new 2017 remix of Lodger done by Visconti (Bowie gave his blessing to the project before passing away last year). There will be an 11-CD version and 13-LP vinyl version, both include the new Re:Call 3 compilation featuring “remastered contemporary single versions, non-album singles and B-sides, and songs featured on soundtracks.” Also included is the Baal EP in its entirety, which is making its CD debut. Two other tracks, “Beauty and the Beast (extended version)” and “Breaking Glass (Australian single version),” are making their debuts on CD and digitally. You can listen to “Beauty and the Beast (extended version)” below (the original was on “Heroes”. Also below is the complete tracklist for the whole box set, which is named after the last track on side one of Low.
