Danish punks Iceage have announced a new album, For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, and shared a new song from it, “Ember,” via a music video. For Love of Grace & the Hereafter is due out May 29 via Mexican Summer. Below, check out “Ember,” followed by the album’s tracklist and cover artwork.

For Love of Grace & the Hereafter includes “Star,” a new song shared in March that was one of our Songs of the Week.

It’s been five years since their last album, Seek Shelter, which was one of our Top 100 Albums of 2021 and was produced by Sonic Boom (aka Pete Kember).

Iceage is vocalist Elias Rønnenfelt, guitarist Johan Suurballe Wieth, drummer Dan Kjær Nielsen, guitarist Casper Morilla Fernandez, and bassist Jakob Tvilling Pless. Since Seek Shelter, Rønnenfelt has released the solo albums Heavy Glory (2024) and Speak Daggers (2025), as well as lucre (2025), his EP with Dean Blunt.

The band produced and mixed For Love of Grace & the Hereafter with Nis Bysted, recording it last year at Silence Studio. The studio is a house in rural Sweden near the Norwegian border and also the same studio where they recorded 2014’s Plowing Into the Field of Love. This is the first time they’ve recorded two different albums in the same studio, as the band wanted to match that same raw energy found on the earlier album.

“The songs needed to be immediate, urgent, raw, and fast,” Rønnenfelt says in a press release. “We wanted to try to shed any unnecessary weight. Catching outlets of energy is what excites us the most.”
