Listen: Chairlift – “Crying in Public”
Moth Due Out in January 22 via Columbia

Chairlift
Chairlift are releasing their third album, Moth, on January 22 via Columbia. They have previously shared a video for its first single, “Ch-Ching,” and both the audio and video for the album’s second single, “Romeo.” Now the New York-based duo has shared another song from the record, “Crying in Public.”
Frontwoman Caroline Polachek commented on the song in a press release: “‘Crying in Public’ was written about a kind of moment familiar to many New Yorkers, where you’re caught up in all these anxieties that seem huge, and then the smallest gesture from someone who loves you can stop you dead in your tracks, all the bullshit falls away, and you’re suddenly humbled by how overwhelmingly beautiful the world is. It’s the closest Patrick [Wimberly] and I have ever come to writing a devotional.”
Moth is the follow-up to 2012’s excellent sophomore album, Something. In 2014 Polachek released Arcadia, a very good solo album as Ramona Lisa. She also recently shared a new solo song and video, “The Boy Who I’ll See Again,” in conjunction with MAKE Beauty.
