Caroline Polachek (formerly of Chairlift) has just shared a cover of “Breathless,” the 2000 song by Irish pop rock group The Corrs. It will be featured as a bonus track on her upcoming remix LP Standing at the Gate: Remix Collection, which contains remixes of tracks from her most recent album, Pang. Polachek has already shared several remixes from Standing at the Gate, including ones by Toro y Moi, George Clanton, and A.G. Cook. More

Caroline Polachek wrote music as a way to fill the long stretches of downtime while on a world tour with her band, Chairlift. As she continued composing songs on her laptop—hiding in closets or hotel bathrooms when she needed a quiet place to record—they took on a peaceful, often sorrowful sound that wasn’t a fit for Chairlift’s upbeat electropop. The songs eventually made their way onto her solo debut, Arcadia, which was released under the name Ramona Lisa.
