Listen: John Carpenter - “Night (Zola Jesus & Dean Hurley Remix)”
Lost Themes Remixed Out Today via Sacred Bones
Oct 16, 2015 John Carpenter
Iconic horror film director John Carpenter is releasing Lost Themes Remixed today via Sacred Bones, a remix record taking on his recent Lost Themes album. Carpenter had long composed music for his films (which include such classics as Halloween, The Thing, Escape From New York, and They Live), but Lost Themes (released back in February) is his first album of original music not recorded for a particular movie. In honor of the release date for Lost Themes Remixed Carpenter has shared a remix of “Night” by Zola Jesus (aka Nika Roza Danilova) and Dean Hurley. It also features vocals from Zola Jesus.
“The opportunity to lend an interpretation of John Carpenter’s music is beyond surreal and humbling,” said Zola Jesus in a press release. Hurley also commented on the remix in the press release: “John Carpenter is an absolute master of mood and has such an eloquent and powerful ‘less is more’ quality to his music.” Check out the remix below.
