Although Governors Ball came to a stormy end Sunday night, its ninth edition held no shortage of memorable moments at New York City’s Randalls Island. A mesmerizing set from metallic French DJ Gesaffelstein, a dreamy golden hour with GRAMMY’s Album of the Year winner Kacey Musgraves, and nothing short of a work of art from Florence + The Machine all highlighted an unforgetable weekend.
While just the second time organizers have been forced to cancel a day, lost sets from Kanye West in 2016 and The Strokes this year had passionate fans on social media calling for a date change in the future. Undeterred, organizers decided to issue refunds for Sunday, quickly addressed fans in a reddit AMA, and announced the festival would return to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2020, June 5-7.
