The Flaming Lips have shared a new song, “Flowers of Neptune 6,” via a video for the track that features Kacey Musgraves on additional vocals. Frontman Wayne Coyne co-directed the video with regular collaborator George Salisbury. It features Coyne draped in an American flag and wandering a burning field in his signature clear plastic protective ball that he uses to walk over concert audiences. More

Kacey Musgraves’ previous records are a bit sweeter. I don’t want to call Golden Hour raw, but it kind of is compared to her earlier albums. It’s a bit more bare, a bit more real. To me, she writes really classic ‘60s pop songs, so strong, so powerful. More

Owing much to the stagnant nature of modern country music, Kacey Musgravesalong with acts like Chris Stapleton and…well, that’s pretty much ithas appeared to be somewhat a beacon of hope that this genre isn’t all outdated musings of heady optimism, pick-up trucks, and religious overtones. More
