Eric Shoves Them In His Pockets
Eric Shoves Them in His Pockets is a Warsaw-based trio with a heart for Modest Mouse and a flair for Pavement-like riffs. Their video for “Storms” (a cut from their recently released debut album Walk it Off), is the simple tale of three pals out for a fun afternoon attempting to break the laws of physics. Put it together and what do you get? An incredibly likeable new band.
“We met [director] Jarek Tokarski and instantly fell into a long conversion about light in Poland vs. light in England, Scandinavian Cinema and Wes Anderson,” says the band of making the video. “We knew it had to work. The video was ready in less than 11 hours. We met up at 6 am to shoot and by 5 pm Jarek messaged us saying he just finished editing. The video was inspired by the ‘Ikar’ (‘Icarus’) paraglider from the 80’s that Simon found in his house, and Ursynów, a district of Warsaw, Poland, where all three of us went to school.”
