On March 15 Under the Radar will host the second of three free SXSW Day parties sponsored by PRS Guitars. Leading up to the event we’re letting you know about each artist playing. Today we’re spotlighting Slow Club.
In a previous post we gave you the basic party details of the party: The party happens from 12:00-6:00 PM at the Flamingo Cantina at 6th and Red River (515 E. 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701). All events are free and open to the public—no RSVPs or badges are required. The second day also features performances from Choir of Young Believers, Com Truise, Zambri, Taken By Trees, Bear in Heaven, and Chairlift.
Slow Club’s sunny, effervescent blend of pop, rock, and folk form the perfect backdrop for the band to explore sex, death, and life beyond twee. Don’t worry, their tongues are kept firmly in cheek and they’re not without a well-defined sense of humor. Check out our interview with the band here, or our review of their sophomore album Paradise here. Check out some songs and videos below.
