Taken By Trees – Under the Radar’s SXSW Party Spotlight
Under the Radar's SXSW Parties Kick Off March 14 at Flamingo Cantina
Mar 07, 2012 SXSW 2012
On March 15 Under the Radar will host the second of three free SXSW Day parties sponsored by PRS Guitars. Leading up to the event we’re letting you know about each artist playing. Today we’re spotlighting Taken By Trees.
In a previous post we gave you the basic party details of the party: The party happens from 12:00-6:00 PM at the Flamingo Cantina at 6th and Red River (515 E. 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701). All events are free and open to the public—no RSVPs or badges are required. The second day also features performances from Slow Club, Choir of Young Believers, Zambri, Com Truise, Bear in Heaven, and Chairlift.
Taken By Trees’ Victoria Bergsman’s music plays like a return to a simpler time—the singer/songwriter’s words piercing straight to the heart, floating on a simple, pop refrain. Formerly the lead singer of The Concretes, the Swedish musician is on the verge of releasing her third solo album—her first for Secretly Canadian. Check out an interview with Bergsman here, revisit a live review here, or partake in selected videos below.
