The Lemon Twigs (aka brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario) are releasing a new album, Look For Your Mind!, on May 8 via Captured Tracks. Now they have shared its second single, “2 or 3.” Watch the song’s video below.

Brian D’Addario had this to say about the song in a press release: “We played for the first time in Buenos Aires last year and I woke up the next morning having dreamt the chorus. It’s a rare thing for me and even rarer that I end up remembering the words. I had to interpret what ‘she’s lived 2 or 3 as many lives as me’ meant. It made me think of a guy who wasn’t cultured or worldly enough for his girlfriend and had to pretend to be interested in fine art and history.”

Previously they shared its first single, “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You,” via a music video.

The new album features live members Reza Matin (drums) and Danny Ayala (bass), as well as Eva Chambers of Tchotchke, which opens up the recording process after on previous albums the D’Addario brothers handled everything in the studio themselves.

Of the album title, Brian says in a press release: “I do think that now is a time of insanity. You really have to hold onto your own mind if you don’t wanna lose it.”

Look For Your Mind! follows 2024’s A Dream is All We Know, 2023’s Everything Harmony (one of our Top 100 Albums of 2023), 2020’s Songs For the General Public (read our review of it here), 2018’s concept musical Go to School, and their 2016-released debut album, Do Hollywood.
