Cat’s Eyes (the project of Rachel Zeffira and The Horrors’ Faris Badwan) are releasing their sophomore full-length, Treasure House, on June 3 on RAF (via Kobalt Label Services). Last month they found a way to crash Buckingham Palace to perform Treasure House track “We’ll Be Waiting” to an unsuspecting, and probably very rich and stuffy, crowd at a private art event showcasing some of the Queen’s art collection. The guests thought they were watching a performance of authentic renaissance music and apart from Badwan’s singing and Zeffira’s contributions, it does somewhat sound like music from that era, as they perform with an ensemble that includes five other musicians. Cat’s Eyes pulled off a similar stunt for their debut album, when they performed their first ever live show at the Vatican. Watch video of the Buckingham Palace performance below, which the band has just shared.

Previously the band shared the lyric video for Treasure House‘s “Chameleon Queen” and the disturbing video for “Drag,” which featured Badwan and Zeffira (a couple in real life) violently fighting each other at the dinner table. Steve Osborne (New Order, Suede) produced and mixed the album, which was recorded at Real World Studios in 2015. Last year Cat’s Eyes also released a soundtrack to Peter Strickland’s film The Duke of Burgundy. Zeffira is also a guest vocalist on the just-released new album by Primal Scream, Chaosmosis.
