Johnny Jewel is releasing a new album, Windswept, tomorrow (May 10), via his Italians Do It Better label. It features unreleased music from Jewel and his bands Chromatics and Desire, as well as collaborations with Glass Candy, Heaven, and Symmetry. The album also features music from Showtime’s return of Twin Peaks. Previously Jewel shared videos for the album’s title track, “Windswept,” and the short instrumental cut “Television Snow.” Now here’s a video for another short instrumental cut from the album, “Insomnia.” Like yesterday’s “Television Snow” video, Rene & Radka directed the clip, which features a woman seemingly wrapped in plastic (perhaps a nod to Twin Peaks) and was filmed in Los Angeles. Watch it below.

Chromatics were supposed to release a new full-length album, Dear Tommy, in 2015 (it was announced in December 2014). Despite several songs from the album being released, the album never saw the light of day, continually being promised as coming soon. Jewel’s manager, Alexis Rivera, recently revealed in a series of tweets that Jewel had a near-death experience in Hawaii on Christmas Day 2015 and afterwards he destroyed all copies of Dear Tommy in order to re-record it to better capture the sound he was going for.
