Dead Man’s Bones Announce Residency at L.A.‘s Bob Baker Marionette Theater
Dates: Sept 11th, Sept 18th and Sept 25th
So, we already know that L.A.'s Dead Man's Bones (actors Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields) won't disappoint fans of the macabre and doo-wop on their self-titled debut and consequential tour, but what else is rattling around in their sarcophagus of tricks? Turns out it's Pinocchio's family.
This September, the musical pairing will appear in a limited month-long residency at the famed Bob Baker Marionette Theater. Easily the most lauded marionette showcase in the country, the theatre will play host to both Dead Man's Bones and The Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir, who appear on Dead Man's Bones (out October 6th on ANTI-) The band scored and directed these performances and will be providing the soundtrack to the puppet spectacle. (You just know Baker's skeleton marionettes to the right will get lots of use.) Dates are below.
As a side note, turns out the tracklisting for the album has changed since we last reported it. One of DMB's best tracks, the tambourine stomp anthem, "Name In Stone," will no longer appear on the LP. What a shame. The duo have plans to re-record the track for another release though.
Dead Man's Bones Residency at The Bob Baker Marionette Theater:
Sept 11th, Sept 18th and Sept 25th. All shows start at 8:30 p.m.
