Listen: Bloc Party Share New Song - “Stunt Queen”
Released in Honor of Their Hollywood Bowl Performance This Sunday
Sep 20, 2016
Bloc Party
Bloc Party released a new album, HYMNS, back in January via Infectious Music/BMG/Vagrant. It got a bit of a mixed reception, but no matter, the British band are already back with a brand new song, “Stunt Queen,” which you can listen to below. The band has a handful of West Coast dates this week, culminating in a performance at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, and those dates are also below.
Keke Okereke commented on the song in a press release: “‘Stunt Queen’ has its genesis in an idea that dates back to the Australian tour we did at the start of 2016. It was an idea that we worked on at sound checks and was one of the first ideas to come along after Justin and Louise joined the band. Playing the Hollywood Bowl feels like a significant milestone for the band, and we wanted to mark it with a new release. We’re excited to be playing our biggest ever headline gig in the U.S. and releasing new material in the same week.”
The current Bloc Party lineup is short two original members, with Matt Tong leaving in 2013 and Gordon Moakes moving on in 2015. Okereke and Russell Lissack remain and are joined by Justin Harris (of Menomena) and Louise Bartle.
Bloc Party U.S. Tour Dates:
September 21 Tempe, AZ @ Marquee Theatre
September 23 Las Vegas, NV @ Life is Beautiful Festival
September 24 San Diego, CA @ The Observatory North Park
September 25 Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Bowl
