Former Oasis guitarist/singer/songwriter Noel Gallagher released a new solo album under the Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds name, Who Built the Moon?, back in November via Sour Mash/Caroline. Now he has shared a video for “If Love Is the Law.” Mike Bruce directed the video, which is the fifth video in a sequence of seven interconnected videos. Watch it below.

Bruce had this to say about the video in a press release: “‘If Love Is The Law’ is the fifth video of a sequence of seven music videos all of which comprise a chronological story line about two outlaws who meet and fall in love. As a whole the videos will eventually be released as a film entitled Stranded On the Earth complete with dialog sequences and live performances. The concept came from a series of discussions I had with Noel over the course of a couple months leading up to the release of Who Built The Moon?. When Noel sent me his new album I knew I wanted to do something out of the ordinary, something we’re not used to seeing in a music video format. ‘If Love Is The Law’ serves as both a video for the latest single from Who Built The Moon? and as a trailer for the film and what’s to come.”

“If Love Is the Law” will be released as a 12-inch single on September 14 with the B-sides being an instrumental version of the song and the rarity “Alone On the Rope.” Johnny Marr plays guitar and harmonica on “If Love Is the Law.”

Previously Gallagher shared the album’s first single, the upbeat psych-pop number “Holy Mountain,” as well as a video for the song. Then he shared a lyric video for the album’s opening track, “Fort Knox,” which was far-removed from his Oasis work, and instead sounded like something you’d find on one of Primal Scream’s more dance-y albums. Then there was a lyric video for “It’s a Beautiful World” and a full on video for “It’s a Beautiful World.” He also stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform “It’s a Beautiful World.”

David Holmes produced Who Built the Moon? The album is the follow-up to 2015’s Chasing Yesterday.

Former Oasis singer, and Noel Gallagher’s estranged younger brother, Liam Gallagher released his debut solo album, As You Were, last fall via Warner Bros.
