Nashville-based outfit Post Sex Nachos make a bright and hooky style of indie rock, leaning towards the genre’s polished and melodic side but with an added dose of irrepressible energy. Fans last heard from the band with their 2024 outing, Prima/Vera, which they followed last year with a new EP, Booster Pack. After returning last month with a new single, “Sound of You,” today they’re announcing their latest album, Big Bad, due out on September 18th. Accompanying the news, they’re also sharing a new single, “A Lot to Lose,” featuring BAILEN, premiering with Under the Radar.

“A Lot to Lose” takes a groove-heavy turn for the band, piling gleaming hooks and fizzy guitar tones atop an exceedingly smooth rhythm section. Vocalist Sammy Elfanbaum knits it all together, sounding bright, impassioned, and youthful as he soars high on the chorus. The track delivers a moment of charming sing-along euphoria as the lyrics tribute a close, enduring, and ever-reliable friendship. It is indie pop with punch, polish, and charisma, the kind that will surely make for a great moment in the band’s live set. Fittingly for a song about connection and camaraderie, indie pop duo BAILEN join in on the second verse, offering an airy counterpoint to Elfanbaum’s vocals while blending beautifully with him later in the track.

Elfanbaum says of the track, “I’ve always wanted to write a song about a ride-or-die kind of friendship. Everybody has that person they can call up at any time and pick up right where they left off, no matter how long it’s been. I brought this idea to BAILEN and they absolutely ran with it. We came up with the chorus together over a Zoom call, and came back with our respective verses a couple weeks later. BAILEN really elevated this track, making ‘A Lot to Lose’ my favorite song on the record.”

Check out the song below, along with their upcoming tour dates. Big Bad is out everywhere on September 18th. Pre-save the record here.
