Fantasy Turns Obsessive On The New Track From The London duo
South London duo Sandhouse have shared “Pollyanna”, a new single out now via Broke Records and a first glimpse of a forthcoming project due to be announced in the coming months.
“Pollyanna” builds from glassy electronics into distorted guitars and alt-rock aesthetics, with Anna Sutherland’s mellifluous vocals delivering lyrics that shift from romantic fantasy to something darker, more obsessive, and unhinged.
The band say of the track: “Pollyanna is about becoming numbed by the cinema of infatuation, and using the fairytale of romance to blindly ignore any signs of reality.”
Sandhouse are Anna Sutherland and Caspar Holloway. Their sound pulls together grunge guitars, trip-hop production, psychedelia and nocturnal alt-pop. Their 2025 debut EP Circus and two subsequent standalone singles have attracted strong press attention and radio support across BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing, where they were named Track of the Week. Circus is currently approaching 4 million streams on Spotify.
Live, the band have sold out Corsica Studios, The Lexington and Peckham Audio, and have toured with Dove Ellis, PORIJ, Bleach Lab and Panic Shack.
