Spacemoth (the Oakland, CA-based project of Maryam Qudus) is releasing a new album, Inward Eye, on June 26 via Greenway Records. Now she has shared its next single, “Telepathic Butterflies.” Listen below.

Speaking of the themes on the album and its title in a press release, Qudus says: “It’s a metaphor for the mind’s eye, your imagination and memory, your ability to visualize experiences and emotions. When I think about the happiest moments in life, it’s like this perfect light at sunset and you’re a kid running around in a field and you’re just so happy, or you’re with a person you love—it’s those moments.”

The album’s lead single, “Do We Exist?,” was one of our Songs of the Week. Its next single, “Internet Fantasy,” also landed on Songs of the Week.
