Those among the gaming community experienced a cool treat not too long ago when The National contributed a new song “Exile Vilify” to the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed first-person puzzle solver Portal 2. As previously reported, together with the video game’s developer Valve, the New York band held an open contest for the single’s music video. While the winning clip, directed by C.F Meister, doesn’t have anything to do with dimensional gateways or sarcastically evil artificial intelligence, it does feature a sock puppet in desperate need of a friend. Try not to be become too depressed when watching the video below.
