At this point it might just be easier to think of Preoccupations as a different band, as their latest album New Material shares a lot more in common with the first, self-titled Preoccupations album than their debut under their former name. Stereolab’s co-founder Tim Gane has teamed up with synth player Holger Zapf and former Stereolab drummer Joe Dillworth to form a new trio named Cavern of Anti-Matter. They will be releasing their debut album, void beats / invocation trex, on February 19 via Duophonic.
