For just over 20 years, Canadian indie outfit Metric have felt like both a comfort band and so much more than that. The brainchild of singer/songwriter Emily Haines and guitarist Jimmy Shaw, the four-piece—including Joshua Winstead (bass guitar) and Joules Scott Key (drums)—have been cranking out synth-heavy pop-punk albums since 2003.
