The experimental duo of Aaron Freeman (aka Gene Ween) and Mickey Melchiondo Jr. (aka Dean Ween) called it quits in May 2012 after 25 years of being together and played their then final show on New Year’s Eve 2012 in Denver.

Eagles of Death Metal were playing the Le Bataclan venue tonight in Paris when terrorists stormed it, shot into the crowd, and took hostages. According to The Washington Post the band was able to escape, but some of their crew are unaccounted for. This followed an earlier suicide bomb in a Paris soccer stadium. The police have stormed the venue and the siege is over, but CNN are reporting that as many as 100 attendees are dead.

Fred Armisen and Bill Hader have a fake classic 1970s soft rock band, Blue Jean Committee. They were the subject of the season finale of Armisen and Hader’s new faux documentary show on IFC, Documentary Now! But next Friday (November 20) they are also releasing an actual seven song Catalina Breeze EP via Drag City.
