Weezer
Weezer recently shared a brand new song, “Thank God For Girls,” via a semi lyric video for the song (I say semi because only some of the lyrics appear on the screen). Now there’s an official full-on video for the song. In it Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is a corrupt evangelical preacher who is up on the pulpit in one scene and then seen gambling away his parishioners’ money.

Ween
Not that they’ve been away that long (they only broke up in 2012), but Ween have reunited. The experimental duo of Aaron Freeman (aka Gene Ween) and Mickey Melchiondo Jr. (aka Dean Ween) called it quits in May 2012 after 25 years of being together and played their then final show on New Year’s Eve 2012 in Denver.

Brooklyn’s Ra Ra Riot have announced their new album and shared its first single, “Water,” which features Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij. Empress Of (aka Lorely Rodriguez) released her well-received debut, Me, a couple of months ago via Terrible. Now she has shared a video for “Icon.” Eli Born directed the clip, which features Rodriguez driving and dancing around the countryside, as well as wandering around the city.

Eagles of Death Metal
Eagles of Death Metal were playing the Le Bataclan venue tonight in Paris when terrorists stormed it, shot into the crowd, and took hostages. According to The Washington Post the band was able to escape, but some of their crew are unaccounted for. This followed an earlier suicide bomb in a Paris soccer stadium. The police have stormed the venue and the siege is over, but CNN are reporting that as many as 100 attendees are dead.

Fred Armisen and Bill Hader have a fake classic 1970s soft rock band, Blue Jean Committee. They were the subject of the season finale of Armisen and Hader’s new faux documentary show on IFC, Documentary Now!
