LIV is a Swedish supergroup that features Lykke Li, her romantic partner Jeff Bhasker, Andrew Wyatt from Miike Snow, Pontus Winnberg from Miike Snow and Amason, and Peter Bjorn and John‘s Björn Yttling. Now LIV have shared a delicate new song, “Hurts to Liv.” According to a quote given to Vogue, it was inspired by the parents of Li and Wyatt, as each has recently lost a parent. Li had this to say: “It’s been a very spiritual, beautiful, and life-awakening cycle. Creating and giving birth to a baby boy, losing a mother-as well as Andrew’s father-and to be able to put into song life’s suffering before it even happened. Sometimes we forget to live and be loved, cause it hurts to live.” Listen below.

Last September the band was announced via the debut of their first song, “Wings of Love.” Then last October we were treated to a NSFW video for the song directed by Li in her directorial debut. Then last November there was another song from the band, the slow-burning “Dream Awake.” In June LIV shared a third song, the upbeat “Heaven,” via its lyric video. Listen and watch below, followed by the single’s artwork.

All of the members of LIV are part of the INGRID collective. Peter Bjorn and John released a new album, Breakin’ Point, in June 2016. Miike Snow’s latest, iii, came out in March 2016. Amason’s debut album, Sky City, came out in 2015. And Lykke Li’s last album was 2014’s I Never Learn. There’s no word on an album or EP from LIV.
