Today’s Patreon exclusive is an old article on legendary ‘90s shoegazers Slowdive. The article, an interview with singer/guitarist Rachel Goswell, ran in Issue 4 of Under the Radar‘s print magazine, way back in 2003. One of our original writers, and a longtime Slowdive fan, Nick Hyman conducted the interview. It was part of a special section we ran on shoegazing, which included interviews with fellow shoegazers Ride, Lush, Chapterhouse, Swirlies, and Swervedriver. At the time Slowdive had been broken up for eight years and Goswell was focused on her post-Slowdive band Mojave 3, as well as her solo work. Slowdive reformed a few years ago and released a new album, a self-titled affair and their first full-length in 22 years, today via Dead Oceans.
Most of our early print magazine articles can’t be found on our website or elsewhere on the Internet. But Patreon supporters can read the article.
