The xx released a new album, I See You, back in January via Young Turks. This week they’ve been performing a series of shows in a residency at London’s Brixton Academy they were calling “Night + Day” and have been bringing out some cool special guests each night. Last night they brought out Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine to perform Jamie xx’s remix of Welch’s song “You’ve Got the Love.” This week the band also brought out Savages’ Jehnny Beth for “Infinity,” Cat Power for “Maybe Not,” and Robyn for her song “With Every Heartbeat.” Watch videos from The xx and fans of all the collaborations below, via Pitchfork.

The London trio (Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim, and Jamie Smith) recorded their third album between March 2014 and August 2016 in New York, Marfa TX, Reykjavik, Los Angeles, and London. Smith and Rodaidh McDonald produced I See You, which is the follow-up to 2012’s Coexist and 2009’s xx. Read our review of the album.

On Monday night we were joined by our dear friend @jehnnybeth from Savages. She told us once that she loved our song ‘Infinity’ so we thought it would be fun to invite her up to sing it! One thing we aspire to do with Night + Day is to bring people together, from all different types of music, so to have her join us felt very special and it was a lot of fun adding distortion to everything at the end!
