Ruth Radelet, the former frontwoman of Chromatics, has announced the release of her debut solo EP, The Other Side, which will be out on October 7. She has also shared a video for a new single from the album, “Stranger.” The song was produced by Filip Nikolic, formerly of Poolside. More

It seems appropriate that Poolside has sunshine on the brain. The Southern California-based duo (DJ Jeffrey Paradise and Filip Nikolic, formally of Junior Senior and Ima Robot) created their debut album Pacific Standard Time in the most regionally appropriate of settings: over drinks in their poolside studio, before literally stepping out the door to air cuts for a few friends. The result? A lackadaisical, lush blend of Balearic beats, shiny synths, and UV-baked posturing that they call “daytime disco.” More

I didn’t get to see everything I wanted to at Under the Radar’s seventh annual SXSW party. (Like any good hostess, I found myself often forgoing the entertainment to make sure no one went thirsty.) However, I was able to see a large handful of favorites (old and new) including: DIANA, Big Black Delta, Shout Out Louds, Young Dreams, Gold & Youth, Young Galaxy, Poolside, DIIV, Dan Croll, NZCA/LINES, IO Echo, and Small Black. More
