The White Stripes Call it Quits
"The White Stripes Belong to You Now."
Feb 02, 2011 The White Stripes
Today, the White Stripes officially called it quits. Despite having released their last album, Icky Thump four years ago, master of ceremonies Jack White has assured fans up until this point that The White Stripes were still in existence—despite his projects with The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs, and owner of Third Man Records.
Via an official press release the band said the following:
“The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. The beauty of art and music is that it can last forever if people want it to. Thank you for sharing this experience. Your involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.”
