Youngish American Due Out This Fall

Dams of the West
Recently departed Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij is releasing a collaborative album with Hamilton Leithauser of The Walkmen (I Had a Dream That You Were Mine) on September 23 via Glassnote. Current Vampire Weekend member Chris Baio released his debut solo album (The Names) last September simply under his last name, also via Glassnote. Now it’s the other Chris in Vampire Weekend’s turn. Chris Tomson has announced his debut solo album, but he’s going under the name Dams of the West. His debut album under that moniker is entitled Youngish American and is due out this fall (exact release date and label to be announced).
The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney co-produced the album with Tomson and Roger Moutenot. Tomson has shared a lyric video for the album’s first single, “Death Wish.” His wife Emily Tomson directed the fairly natural clip of Tomson cleaning a house and hanging out on a rocky beach. Watch it below, followed by the album’s tracklist and cover art. Can an Ezra Koenig solo album be far behind?
