Weezer Share NASA Commissioned New Song “I Love the USA”
In Honor of Juno Spacecraft Arriving at Jupiter July 4th

Weezer have released a brand new patriotic song, “I Love the USA,” just in time for Independence Day (the holiday, not the poorly received alien invasion movie sequel). The song was actually commissioned by NASA and Apple Music in honor of the Juno unmanned spacecraft, a probe sent several years ago to study Jupiter. Next Monday, also July 4th, Juno will enter the planet’s orbit. Although, the song seems to have little to do with space travel, Jupiter, or NASA, and in fact seems to have been written before NASA even got in touch with the band. As frontman Rivers Cuomo put it when announcing the song on Weezer’s website: “We were on tour abroad, and it got me thinking a lot about America, which lead to me write ‘I Love The USA.’ When Apple and NASA asked us to be involved with Juno’s historic landing on July 4th, this song seemed like the perfect fit.”
The stand alone single is available on Apple Music and iTunes now and can be streamed below. Earlier this year the band released a new album, Weezer (aka The White Album).
