British singer/songwriter Ed Harcourt released his acclaimed seventh full-length album, Furnaces, last year via Polydor. Now he shared a video for “The World Is on Fire.” Annick Wolfers directed the beautiful clip, which features a redheaded woman in a black cloak and is inspired by the mythology of the Roman god of fire, Vulcan.

Songs of the Week
It was a busy week for new tracks, with two pop singers (Jessie Ware and Charli XCX) making a strong showing. A couple of classic rockers made a return, and while Ringo Starr’s new song (featuring Paul McCartney and others) was pretty standard old rocker fare, one of Mick Jagger’s new songs (either “Gotta Get a Grip” or the remix of it by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker) surprisingly almost made our Top 8.

Baauer
Alt-J released their third album, Relaxer, last month via Canvasback Music. Now they have shared a remix of “In Cold Blood” by American dance music producer Baauer. The original sounded like something that could have easily been found on the band’s Mercury Prize-winning debut album from 2012, An Awesome Wave, whereas Baauer’s remix ups the bass and adds in beats and stutters. Wolf Alice
Britain’s Wolf Alice are releasing their sophomore album, Visions of a Life, on September 29 via Dirty Hit/RCA. Previously the band shared a lyric video for the album’s punky and profanity-laden first single, the two-minute long “Yuk Foo,” in which frontwoman Ellie Rowsell declares in the chorus “you bore me, you bore me to death, well you bore me, no I don’t give a shit.”
