Indigo De Souza is releasing a new album, Precipice, on July 25 via Loma Vista. Now she has shared its third single, “Be Like the Water,” via a music video. Watch it below.
“‘Be Like the Water’ is about being brave and protecting your energy,” says De Souza in a press release. “It’s about listening to your inner self and respecting your gut instinct. My favorite lyric in the song is ‘you can leave if you want to, and you don’t have to say why.’ Whether it’s leaving the room, leaving the conversation, or leaving a toxic relationship, you have the power to make a change and life is too precious to waste your spirit.”
De Souza previously shared the album’s first single, “Heartthrob,” via a music video. It was one of our Songs of the Week. Then she shared its second single, “Crying Over Nothing,” via a music video, and announced some more tour dates. “Crying Over Nothing” was also one of our Songs of the Week.
Precipice follows 2023 All of This Will End, which was released on her previous label Saddle Creek. De Souza worked with Elliott Kozel on the album.
“Life feels like always being on the edge of something without knowing what that something is,” De Souza says in a press release. “Music gives me ways to harness that feeling. Ways to push forward in new directions.”
