Once drone-metalers Earth forge further into the American(a) desert with this sequel to last year’s ride. Look, it’s a tumbleweed, bouncing through the dust and over a cow skull, blown back and forth like so many of us in the modern wasteland. Look, it’s Earth, still with the new cellist and bassist in tow, saddling up for another funeral march toward the bleak horizon.

Fans of last year’s outing, and this era of Earth in general, will find said saddles well-worn but… comfortable. Earth are masters of this weird genre they’ve slowly, deliberately carved themselves. Also, hey, is that a distortion pedal on the last tune? A storm may be brewing. (www.thronesanddominions.com)
