Beans may’ve receded to the recesses of memory during his half-decade hiatus, but don’t sleep on this triple album comeback coinciding with the release of his first novel, Die Tonight. HAAST, the most adventurous set, pushes dexterous rhymes through a meat grinder of industrial and free jazz caterwaul. Love Me Tonight is collaboration-heavy, a little uneven, and slightly more accessible, at its best when producers like Laurel Halo bring their clattering beats to bear. Held up to the other two, Wolves of the World seems to rely more on what has worked in past efforts, but it’s still challenging and fun in turns. (www.beansiswack.com)
