Compulsive Comics, a collection comprising reprinted stories by Eric Haven, is a wonderful bit of weird. His draftsmanship evokes some sort of sweet spot between ‘70s underground comix, ‘90s alt-comics, and classic serialized strips featuring strange creatures and square-jawed, Flash Gordon types. But his sensibilities, even more than the glorious art, are the real selling point. I don’t think I’ve come across such an eclectic mix of hilarity and horror and wonderment. Laughing even as you feel a little sick in confronting the nature of existence is probably the better way to confront it than the ways not involving humor. (www.fantagraphics.com)

Indeed It is the best that has ever come from Eric Havens. With a momentary look It looks like standard genre fiction. Being as an expert writer I would say that Haven surrealist and brilliantly comics surprised you at every turn and brings you inborn bliss for the readers
