Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get with Bambi, the sophomore album by Hippo Campus. Both high tech and lo-fi with a DIY mentality, it’s a quirky, somewhat angular dream pop mixture with introspective lyrics. Perhaps what a cross between Death Cab for Cutie, Vampire Weekend, and Dirty Projectors would sound like. (www.hippocampus.band)
