Colin MacIntyre
Island
Future Gods

Since the solo work of Colin MacIntyre is by and large an extension of his defunct one-man-band Mull Historical Society, one would think the difference between the two would be minimal. Yet unlike MHS’s eclectic indie pop, MacIntyre stripped down his sound dramatically for his sophomore solo effort, Island. He is smart enough to cushion his acoustic folk picking with layered vocal harmonies and brushed drumming as heard on “She’s No Ordinary Queen,” but for the most part these tracks are raw folk pop. First single, “Cape Wrath” however, is a reminder of the infectious indie pop MacIntyre is still capable of. (www.colinmacintyre.com)
