“Coquet Coquette” MP3

Jun 28, 2010

Psychedelic-funk thespians, of Montreal, will soon drop their tenth LP, False Priest, via Polyvinyl. It’s out September 14 in the U.S. (September 13 in Europe). Frontman Kevin Barnes co-produced the new tunes with film composer and Fiona Apple/Kanye West collaborator Jon Brion. It also features guest spots from R&B songstresses Janelle Monáe and Solange Knowles.

Download the catchy debut single “Coquet Coquette,” above. It’s got a slick guitar riff and then opens up into some electro squiggling. Look out for a music video later this year. False Priest is available to pre-order now. Check out the acid trip-like cover artwork to the right. It’s by Apollinaire Rave’s David Barnes (Kevin’s brother) and Gemini Tactics (Kevin’s wife, Nina Twin). (Via Pitchfork.)
