Indie Rock Artist Amy Martin Announces Children’s Book “Symphony City”
Out Via McSweeney’s New Children Imprint
Jun 16, 2011 Amy Martin
Graphic artist Amy Martin (whose work has been featured in concert posters for Band of Horses, Death Cab For Cutie, and more) is proud to announce her first children’s book, due out this July. Titled Symphony City, the release comes via McSweeney’s new children’s imprint. The story tells the tale of a little girl, separated from her grandfather on the way to a symphony performance.
The intersection of art and music is a natural one for Martin—she counts Sufjan Stevens, Black Atlantic, Radio Dept., Teenage Fanclub, Death Cab For Cutie and Telekinesis as “unknowing collaborators.” (We salute her good taste!)
