Watch: Bruce Springsteen - “We Take Care of Our Own” Video
America the Beautiful
Feb 10, 2012 Bruce Springsteen
There’s aren’t that many musicians that can pull off such heart-on-your-sleeve patriotism nowadays without coming across at least a little bit cheesy. The American institution that he is, Bruce Springsteen is clearly immune to such eye-rolling. In the video for “We Take Care of Our Own,” the lead single off The Boss’s forthcoming new album Wrecking Ball, Springsteen makes it pretty clear what he’s singing about (even being so kind as to include the lyrics) showing scenes of the everyday and the everyman. Wrecking Ball is scheduled for release on March 5 in the UK and March 6 in the U.S. Click below to watch the video.

If, after watching this video, you STILL think the song is a display of “heart-on-your-sleeve patriotism,” then it is not “pretty clear” what the song is about because you seem to have missed the point entirely.
