Elbow are releasing a new album, Flying Dream 1, on November 19 via Polydor. Now they have shared its first single, the delicate “The Seldom Seen Kid,” via a video. Yes, the song shares its title with the band’s Mercury Prize-winning 2008 album, The Seldom Seen Kid, and that’s because both titles were inspired by frontman Guy Garvey’s late friend Bryan Glancy, who died suddenly in 2006. Elbow frontman Guy Garvey recently announced his debut solo album, Courting the Squall. We’ve already heard the album’s first single, “Angela’s Eyes,” and now the song has a video. Elbow frontman Guy Garvey formally announced his debut solo album, Courting the Squall, on Wednesday. The first single was announced as “Angela’s Eyes” and was played on BBC Radio 6 Music, but there was no easy way for U.S. listeners to hear the song. Now it has surfaced on YouTube (stream below) and can also be listened to on Spotify here. More

Back in August Elbow frontman Guy Garvey gave an interview with the British radio station XFM and said that he’d just put the finishing touches on a new solo album and that it was due for release in October. Now Garvey has announced on his official Facebook page that the album is titled Courting the Squall and is due out October 30 in the U.K. More
