Omaha indie-pop quintet Thunder Power are set to release their fourth EP via Slumber Party Records on March 2nd. The promisng band will split the Hearts Intersect EP with the Toledo-based outfit, The 1959 Hat Co. Today we’ve got the premiere of the sunny rocker “Heartifact.” Check out the soulful twee-pop cut above. Fact: you’ll be humming its main melody throughout the day. Tour dates can be found here. Also, TP recently stopped by the Daytrotter studio for a session.
Filter Magazine premiered the video for The Kissaway Trail‘s “SDP” today. The video condenses the over-six-minute opener from the band’s upcoming LP SLEEP MOUNTAIN to a spry 3:39 minutes. The Danish band has some sunny vocals from singers Søren Corneliussen and Thomas Fagerlund and their propulsive sound is aided by sharp production from Peter Katis (Interpol, Jónsi, The National, Sigur Rós).
SLEEP MOUNTAIN will be out out April 20th on Bella Union/Yep Roc. Check out the band’s tour dates/SXSW appearance here.
Esben and the Witch
“Marching Song” MP3
Feb 05, 2010
The xx-approved Brighton band Esben and the Witch have a pretty cool song called “Marching Song” floating around the interwebs. The promising new trio sounds like a shoegaze-y version of Bat For Lashes. Pretty haunting stuf overall. Be sure to also check out “Lucia, at the Precipice.” Esben’s 33 self-released EP is out now.
They also performed the even better track, “Take It In.” Peep it over on Fallon’s site. Check out the quintet’s tour dates here.
Spoon: “Written in Reverse” Video
Spoon‘s seventh studio LP, Transference, is out now on Merge. Now we’ve got this back-in-white clip for the single, “Written in Reverse.” The Austin, Texas indie rockers are literally reversed as they jam through the larynx-shredding song in front of a huge mirror. Enjoy. Check out the band’s upcoming world tour dates here. (Via P4k.tv.)

Philly shoegaze-pop band A Sunny Day in Glasgow issued one of the best and most underappreciated records of 2009: the 22-track sophomore opus Ashes Grammar. Now the sextet will quickly sate our hunger with their upcoming Nitetime Rainbows EP. The brief release will give fans previously unreleased tracks, a few remixes, and some new material. One of the new songs is the sunny, fuzz-pop tune, “So Bloody, So Tight.” Watch the band members run around naked with their camo-paint in its ‘80s-esque video below. The vid was directed by Bob Weisz. Above, you will find something equally delightful: the group, sans paint, acoustically covering Fleetwood Mac‘s “Everywhere” for The New Gay.
Enjoy, ASDIG fans. Nitetime Rainbows is out March 2nd, on Mis Ojos Discos. Check out their upcoming tour dates here. (Via Stereogum.)
