AC Entertainment released the still expanding Lineup for MoogFest, the three-day festival, celebrating the innovative vision of sonic pioneer, Robert Moog, will take place Halloween weekend, October 29-31 in Asheville, NC. The MoogFest 2010 weekend kicks off Friday, October 29, with performances by MGMT, Big Boi, Girl Talk, and others. Artists joining Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation and Jónsi for Saturday, October 30, includes Four Tet, Caribou, and Matmos. On the final day, Hot Chip and Pretty Lights will headline. Bristol trip-hop progenitors Massive Attack have a new EP, entitled Splitting the Atom, set for release October 5th in the U.S. and the U.K., on Virgin. The new EP will include four new tracks, two of which in remixed fashion. And all of the beat-heavy cuts feature a guest vocalist of some stripe, including TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, Elbow's Guy Garvey, Martina Topley-Bird, and longtime Massive Attack conspirator Horace Andy. Massive Attack's DJ's Robert "3D" Del Naja ("D") and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall ("G") made such a name for themselves early on in their careers that when they started work on their not-quite-titled fifth album they didn't have to scrounge around for guest spots and remixers. They came to them in droves. Though they couldn't use all of the artists they worked with, the trip hop progenitors have plenty of tricks up their sleeves. In preparation for the album in February, they're releasing their first new material in three years, in the form of a preview remix EP called Splitting the Atom (out October 6th on EMI/Virgin).
