Since we’re possibly nearing the end of the DVD/physical media format, studios are emptying their vaults to try to get a last grab of cash before we transition to watching everything with memory implants. And when it comes to comic books and how they occupy a huge chunk of popular culture, no stone is left unturned. This animated 13-episode run of Superman from the late 1980s is an example of something that probably should have been forgotten but has been resurfaced to wrestle dollars from completists.

V was a beloved ‘80s miniseries and series about an alien race that comes to Earth preaching peace but hiding darker motives (and lizard-like bodies under their fake human skin). ABC’s remake is faithful in premise and slicker in presentation.

After having covered the last two seasons of The Shield on DVD, what’s left to say about the show that put basic cable network FX on the map? Well, if you haven’t seen the show or are looking to add the entire collection to your library, you’re in for a gritty treat.

The two main characters on the USA Network’s latest hour-long dramedy, White Collar, fit the channel’s “characters welcome” bill to a T. Chuck‘s ridiculously good-looking Matt Bomer plays con artist-turned-FBI-collaborator, Neal Caffrey. Starting out on the run, a captured Caffrey is approached by FBI agent Peter Burke (Tell Me You Love Me‘s Tim Dekay) to help nab white-collar criminals in exchange for a conditional, limited amount of freedom monitored by an ankle bracelet.

There’s nothing you can say about Monty Python in six hours that can’t be said in the five minutes it takes to re-watch the “Dead Parrot” sketch, but here’s IFC with a brand new documentary featuring new interviews with all surviving Python members, their families and friends, as well as archival photos and video and rarely seen interview footage.

Disclaimer: I’ve never been a hardcore fan of the Stargate series. Sure, the Roland Emmerich (The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day) flick was dumb popcorn-style fun and the original TV series, Stargate SG-1, wasn’t on for 10 seasons for nothing. Even Stargate Atlantis and the two direct-to-DVD releases (Stargate: The Ark of Truth, Stargate: Continuum) were good time wasters. Luckily, Universe was made with relative noobs like me in mind.

They don’t make ‘em like they used to, and when they do they get cancelled. Case in point: Life on Mars. The show never had a chance, in part because for much of the season ABC scheduled the series in the hour following Lost—a slot that in five years has meant guaranteed cancellation in nearly every instance.

The Middle is a new ABC sitcom featuring Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) as Frankie Heck, a middle-aged mother of three trying to maintain her sanity among parenting responsibilities and a dead-end job in the middle of nowhere, Indiana.
