Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings
Modern soul legend Sharon Jones (of Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings) has died at age 60. The singer had been battling pancreatic cancer. A statement was released this evening on the Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings Facebook page that in part read: “We are deeply saddened to announce Sharon Jones passed away today after a heroic battle against pancreatic cancer.

Leonard Cohen
Legendary singer/songwriter/poet Leonard Cohen‘s death was announced last Thursday (November 10) even though he actually passed away last Monday (November 7). It had been suspected that Cohen had been sick, due to statements he had given in recent interviews about being “ready to die,” but no official cause of death was stated when his passing was announced.

Factory Floor
British electro-rock/post-industrial band Factory Floor released their latest album, 25 25, back in August via DFA. Now they have shared a video for “Wave.” The band’s own Gabe Gurnsey directed the frantic clip, filming it around the English/Welsh border.
